What this page covers
This page covers countabl.io: the calculators, the Know Your Numbers library, the Excel models, Notes, and everything else published here. What happens to information you give us is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
It doesn't cover the work we do once you hire us. Bookkeeping, cash management, sales-and-use tax compliance and fractional CFO work are governed by your engagement letter with us. If anything on this page reads differently from your engagement letter, the engagement letter is what counts.
Countabl serves businesses. This site is intended for business use, not for personal, family or household use.
Nothing here is advice
Everything published on this site is general information. The articles, the calculators, the metrics library, the Excel models and anything you download are here to be useful. None of it is accounting, tax, legal or investment advice, and none of it is a substitute for advice from someone who has seen your own numbers.
Countabl provides financial operations and advisory services, including sales-and-use tax compliance. We are not a CPA firm: we do not prepare income tax returns and do not provide tax planning, audit, or attest services.
Using this site doesn't make you a client. Running a calculator, downloading a model, subscribing to Notes, booking a call or emailing us doesn't create a client relationship. That starts when we both sign an engagement letter.
If a decision matters, check it with someone who knows your situation.
The calculators and the models
They run in your browser. The figures you type are never sent to us, so we never see them and we can't tell you whether they're right.
What comes back is an estimate built on the numbers you enter and the assumptions we picked. Where an assumption changes the answer, we say so on the page. If your business works differently from the assumption, the answer will be off in a way the tool can't catch.
Where a calculation shows an industry benchmark, we name the source and the date beside it. Those figures come from outside publishers, and several of them get revised on their own schedules. Some are averages of public companies, which we label. Check the current source before you lean on a number.
The Excel models are yours to use inside your own business and to change however you like. Please don't resell them, republish them, or build them into something you sell. They come as they are, with no support, so check the formulas before you rely on them.
Prices and estimates
The prices on this site describe our standard tiers and packaged projects, and we may change them. Engagements above $25M in revenue are scoped individually and aren't priced from the table.
The project builder gives you an estimate from the projects you pick. It isn't a quote and it doesn't bind either of us. Real price and scope come from a written proposal after we've talked.
Samples
Any sample memo, forecast or dashboard on this site describes a made-up company with invented figures, and says so on the page itself. It's there to show you the format. It isn't a client's work and it isn't a prediction of your results.
Client names and case studies appear here only with that client's permission, and they describe that engagement rather than what yours would look like.
Using the site
Please use the site for what it's for. Don't interfere with how it runs, don't try to get around its security, and don't point automated tools at it to copy it, beyond the ordinary search engines.
The writing, tools, models and code here belong to Countabl. You're welcome to link to anything or quote a short passage with attribution. Ask us before republishing at length and we'll usually say yes.
Sending us information
Email and web forms aren't secure. If you need to send us financial statements, bank details or anything else sensitive, ask and we'll set up a better channel. We'll never ask you to email us a password or an account number, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
What we do with what you send us, and how to have it deleted, is in our Privacy Policy. The short version is that we use it to reply to you, to send you the thing you asked for, and to scope work. We don't sell it and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Other sites
This site links out to other websites. It books calls through Calendly, loads fonts from Google, and loads share buttons from Facebook and X on Notes pages. Once you click through, that company's terms apply and ours don't. We don't control what they publish or how they behave.
Accuracy and availability
We keep this site as accurate as we can and we fix things when we find them wrong. We can't promise it's complete or current. Rules, benchmarks and market figures move, and an article that was right when we published it may not be right today. We may change, move or remove any part of the site at any time, and we can't promise it will always be up.
Changes to this page
We'll update this page as the site changes, and update the date at the top when we do.
